Life Education and Action Ministries
What changes culture and how do prolife people build a "culture of life"? After decades of prolife effort both on the minstry and political sides, we began to to study this question and discovered a promising way, the Bible. It teaches a lot about unborn life and in it, God defines himself on the subject of Life. As an example, cultural views on slavery changed radically when some Christian people saw that God taught we should welcome the slave back "no longer as a slave, but better than a slave, as a dear brother." (Philemon 1:16) and they took that to heart. The abolition movement was started and less than 200 years later, slavery was essentially ended in the West where previously, it had been an accepted practice all over the world for all of human history. That's the power of the gospel of Jesus. Life Education and Action focuses on the Church and the Bible's teaching about Life. And while the word abortion isn't mentioned in the Bible, it is full of abundant teaching about the unborn. If the Church focuses on what God says about unborn life, the culture will change. Over the last 2,000 years, when the Church has relied on the Bible, it has profoundly and repeatedly changed the culture in many ways. It starts with the Church and then spreads in the general culture. We should do that and then, killing the unborn will be unthinkable. |
